Row, row, row your boat
I've organised a team for this corporate rowing competition and maan... I'm never doing it again ;)
Rowing itself is not tooo bad, I actually find it quite fun. I look forward to all the training sessions and it's something I may never have done myself if I weren't given the opportunity at work.
But what makes it hard is the whole admin side of things. Rostering people on and off, emailing people twice a week to tell them if they're coming or not, even deciding who's coming/not coming is waay hard - how do you tell enthusiastic people that they're not coming this week.
I've had my share of complaints about the rostering haha. So we've come up with a diplomatic solution whereby, everyone has to come to training. Extra people will either work on a rowing machine or watch others on a 'tinny' (slang for tin boat). We have to come up with a plan on how to swap people in and out of the boat. As I understand it, the process is that everyone else bends down over their knees, the person leaving/coming on has to walk on the sides of the boat or over them ahhaha Guess that means we'll only swap light girls on and off ;)
1 more week til the competition day though - I hope we at least make it into the top ... and that we don't come in last.
